Bio

Hi, I'm the 3rd grade teacher at Lindy Ross Elementary School in Dubois, Idaho. I love this small town because I graduated from Clark County High School, and I have a lot invested in the education of our students. I am married to my wonderful husband David Leonardson of 44 years and counting. We have three children and 8 grandchildren. I have taught many grades which include 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd in the following school districts: Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Nebo in Spanish Fork, Utah, and Clark County.

I attended Ricks College (now called BYU-I) and received my Associate Degree. While at Ricks College I was in the Vikadettes, Chi Sorority, voted Best Dressed Girl on campus, and Cutest Pan to Ugliest Man. I went to BYU Provo to get my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. My student teaching was in Granite School District, Salt Lake City. I have received the Lion's Recognition for Patriotism Essays for having students write winning essays at the district and state level. I was the Teacher of the Year in 2009-2010 by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. I have served as the PTO President, President of the Clark County Teacher's Association, and on the Negotiating Team for our district.

Teaching has been my life Lion career for 30 years. I have trained several student teachers and love sharing my knowledge of the curriculum, and love for the students. It is thrilling when you see the light come on in their eyes when they learn a new concept or achieve a reward for their hard work. Teaching is a very rewarding career, especially when you still have students who correspond and are noe parents, or have students run up to you with hugs at community events.
